16-player fixed bracket (up to 2 losses), QF start, shared 3rd

Every match and every winner/loser path is predefined. Opening pairs follow seeding (like knockout). Layout: Start in the center, winner → right (1 →), loser → left (← 1).

Match count depends on bracket size. For 16 players — the Setka reference bracket (16→8): 27 matches (#1–#27), 7 columns. For 32 players — 59 matches (#1–#59), 10 columns, lower rounds 1–4. For 64 — 119 matches, 11 columns. For 8 — 4 rounds × 4 = 16.

The doubles equivalent is FIXED_PAIR_SWISS.

  • Admin format label: 16-player bracket (up to 2 losses), QF start, shared 3rd places.
  • 15 players → bracket sized for 16 (one bye in round 1).
  • After a result, winner and loser move to the listed # slots immediately — no Next round button.

Example: 8 players, round 1 match #1

Players A (seed 1) and B (seed 8) meet in round 1, slot 1:

        ← 1 (losers) Start 1 → (winners)
                              A ─── B
                               ↓ ↓
                         ← 1 1 →
                       (slot 5) (slot 1)
                         rnd 2 rnd 2
  1. A wins → automatically to round 2, slot 1, top row (winners branch).
  2. B loses → to round 2, slot 5, top row (one-win branch / ← 1).
  3. Under the match you see loser to #… and winner to #… — numbers never change.

Example: where round 1 winners go

All four round 1 matches in an 8-player bracket:

Round 1 slotPair (seed)Winner →Loser →
11 vs 8round 2, slot 1round 2, slot 5
24 vs 5round 2, slot 1 (row 2)round 2, slot 5 (row 2)
33 vs 6round 2, slot 2round 2, slot 6
42 vs 7round 2, slot 2 (row 2)round 2, slot 6 (row 2)
  1. Winners of slots 1 and 2 meet in round 2, slot 1 — both with one win.
  2. Losers of slots 1 and 2 meet in round 2, slot 5 — both with zero wins.
  3. By the end of round 4 each player has played 4 matches; places follow win count.

Example: 16 players (16→8)

27 matches (#1–#27): first round in the center, lower left (#13–#16, #17–#20), upper (#9–#12), QF (#21–#24), semifinals and final.

#1–#8 Round 1 (center)
#9–#12 Lower, round 1 ← round 1 losers
#13–#16 Upper, round 1 → round 1 winners
#17–#20 Cross (places 9–12)
#21–#24 Quarterfinals (places 5–8)
#25–#26 Semifinals
#27 Final

Double elimination (like a 64-player bracket with a #129 lower bracket) is a separate sports regulation; the platform currently implements fixed Swiss with predefined winner/loser paths, not a full losers bracket.
